Where to Collect Your Sepang F1 Parking Pass
Bought a parking pass for the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia? Two independent outlets report collection is at Mitsui Outlet Park — what to bring, prices, sold-out zones, and what to do if you arrive without a pass.
The short answer, from the best sources we have: parking passes are collected in advance at Mitsui Outlet Park, not at the circuit gates. Two independent outlets report it — BusinessToday (September 24) writes that "collection will be at Mitsui Outlet Park" and that organizers advised spectators to check the instructions sent by email; F1 travel specialist GPDestinations reports passes are collected "in advance from the BIC stand at Mitsui Outlet Park."
What we have not found: an official Sepang International Circuit release naming the collection point. We are asking SIC to confirm directly, and we will update this page the moment they reply. Until then, treat the confirmation email that came with your pass as the final word — if it names a different collection point, follow it.
Why this matters
SIC's CEO confirmed this week that only vehicles with a valid parking sticker or pass get through the checkpoints to the circuit's parking areas — and there are 8 police checkpoints around KLIA and the circuit from Friday morning. No pass, no entry; you are turned away. KLIA's police chief was blunt: without a ticket and a parking sticker, do not come looking. Passes cannot be collected at the gate — sort it before you drive.
What to bring to the collection
The organizers' advice, via BusinessToday: check the instructions sent by email before heading to the venue. Bring the confirmation email (printed or on your phone), the ID or card the pass was bought under, and allow extra time — Mitsui is one of the four shuttle hubs, so it will be busy with shuttle riders as well as pass collectors. If you are collecting on race days, build in at least an hour of slack before you need to be at the circuit.
A two-birds option: Mitsui Outlet Park is itself a free shuttle hub (7 AM–midnight, every 10–15 minutes, Oct 2–4). Collect the pass, park the car at Mitsui, and ride the shuttle in — it sidesteps the checkpoint gauntlet entirely.
Prices and what is sold out
Three-day parking passes start at about RM244 (Paul Tan's Automotive News, Sep 24; priced in Bahraini Dinar at checkout — this is Bahrain's race). The cheapest zone (about RM163) is already reported sold out. If circuit parking is gone or the math hurts, parking at a shuttle hub and riding the free bus in can cost less than circuit parking.
No pass? Do not drive to the circuit
If you did not buy a parking pass, do not drive to Sepang International Circuit. You will be turned back at a checkpoint. Your options: the four free Rapid KL shuttle hubs (Mitsui Outlet Park, KLIA Terminal 2, KLIA Long-Term Car Park, Bandar Baru Enstek), the KLIA Ekspres train to T2 plus the shuttle, or Grab Standard 6-Seater direct to the gates. KLIA itself warned on Thursday: do not drive to the airport to park for the race — more than 200,000 spectators are expected over the weekend and the airport car parks will fill early. Full breakdown: where to catch the free shuttle.
