What a weekend that was.

Formula 1 raced at the Sepang International Circuit for the first time since 2017 — officially the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Max Verstappen won a rain-hit classic in front of an all-time-record 261,000 fans. This site keeps the full record: the race-weekend archive, the guides, and everything we learned trackside.

Final: Verstappen wins Sepang 2026 — Antonelli P2, Hamilton P3.

Sepang hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix from 1999 to 2017 — famous for sudden tropical downpours, a wide and fast Tilke layout, and some of the most passionate fans in the sport. The 2026 comeback was the middle leg of a Baku → Sepang → Singapore triple-header.

Visiting Sepang in future F1 ran its final 2026 session here under a thunderstorm warning — and Sunday's 3:00 PM start was delayed by a downpour. Whatever brings you to Sepang next, plan transport home as part of the day and bring rain cover whatever the forecast says.
