Why a Bahrain website for a Malaysia race?

Bahrain holds the event rights and receives the ticket revenue, so every sale runs through the Bahrain International Circuit — even though you're sitting at Sepang. Heads-up: transactions are processed in Bahraini dinars at the prevailing exchange rate, so don't be surprised to see BHD at checkout.

What's selling out
Update October 3, 2026 (Saturday night). Online sales closed: per the promoter's official post, very limited tickets remain for MyKad holders and international fans, but tickets are no longer available online — helpline only (MY toll-free 1-800-811-474; international +973 1788 8444).
Updated September 22, 2026. The circuit says "limited race weekend tickets remain." International fans: only the Main Grandstand (US$565.40), K2 Hillstand (US$220), and B General Admission (US$220) are still available — the F and K1 grandstands and the C Hillstand are sold out. MyKad holders: only B General Admission (RM809.60) remains; every other category is gone. The RM200 Madani G Hillstand is sold out — on September 20 the Youth and Sports Minister, Dr Taufiq Johari, said SIC reported strong demand and the government is still looking into making additional Madani tickets available, with no quantities or dates announced yet (per Bernama). Watch this space.
National Bank of Bahrain's "Race from Bahrain to Malaysia" campaign (holiday package for two) ended September 20.
Update September 30, 2026. ~95,000 three-day tickets sold: Sepang International Circuit's CEO told Bernama on September 29 that sales could reach 100,000 before race weekend, with roughly half of buyers coming from overseas. Limited tickets remain via bahraingp.com. Bahrain International Circuit's CEO put the event's economic impact at roughly US$240 million (RM979 million).
Update September 28, 2026. DJI Malaysia ticket giveaway — ended: entries closed September 27; winners are announced September 29 on DJI Malaysia's socials. (DJI Malaysia is SIC's official action camera partner.)

Ticket-scam warning: Bitdefender's new F1-fan threat index warns fraudsters run whole ecosystems around F1 weekends — fake grand-prix tickets, counterfeit merch, illegal streams, social-media scams, and phishing. Sepang hillstands have already turned up on resale marketplaces at markups. Held tickets for the original Sakhir race?
BIC's published terms are strict: no refunds or exchanges unless the event is cancelled, and tickets are not transferable to other events. For the postponed April Sakhir race, BIC offered a full refund or a credit note toward the next confirmed Bahrain Grand Prix — holders were contacted by email with instructions (contact +973 1745 0000 / bahraingp.com). The Sepang weekend is a separately ticketed event: a Sakhir refund or credit note does not admit you at Sepang — you need a Sepang ticket.
Good to know
- Children 3–6: 25% discount (not on the G Hillstand). Under 3: free, no allocated seat.
- Accessible seating: available — call +973 1745 0000 to reserve.
- Parking passes: all cars entering the venue need a valid pass — three-day passes from RM244, cheapest zone already sold out. Collect passes in advance from the BIC stand at Mitsui Outlet Park. No motorcycle parking inside the circuit grounds (free motorcycle parking at Mitsui Outlet Park).
- Prams/strollers: banned from the venue per the published visitor rules — under-3s enter free but get no seat and no pram.
- Hospitality: the official F1 Paddock Club — F1's own premium hospitality — is now bookable for this race through F1 Experiences, Formula 1's official hospitality provider. BIC's own organizer hospitality packages are still to be announced.
- Resale sites (viagogo, Klook, Traveloka and others) list Sepang tickets — compare against official prices and confirm the tickets are for the Malaysia event before paying.
- Concert-pass resales: tickets.gp is advertising standalone Martin Garrix concert passes (94 EUR) — unofficial resale. Official concert upgrades are distributed by BIC email to eligible ticket holders only. Petronas has clarified it is not a ticket seller — buy only via bahraingp.com or the BIC hotline +973 1745 0000.
- Triple-header tip: Baku runs the weekend before and Singapore the weekend after — some fans are doing all three.
