Why is it called the Bahrain Grand Prix?
Short version: Bahrain's April race was postponed, Malaysia stepped in to host it, and Bahrain kept the naming rights. So the October 2–4 weekend at Sepang is officially the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Same track, same weekend format — unusual name. The event is confirmed by F1 and the FIA.

Sepang hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix from 1999 to 2017 — famous for sudden tropical downpours, a wide and fast Tilke layout, and some of the most passionate fans in the sport. Max Verstappen won the last one in 2017. It is the middle leg of a Baku → Sepang → Singapore triple-header.
